Happy Lesbian Visibility Week to all who celebrate!

Falling on April 21-27, this week is meant for celebrating lesbian community loudly and proudly. Let’s go lesbians!!

Lesbian Visibility Week originated in 1990-1992 California where lesbians gathered yearly to celebrate, uplift and empower lesbians around the world. The concept has since reemerged in the UK, where they celebrated Lesbian Visibility Day since 2008.   

In 2020, DIVA magazine publisher Linda Riley brought Lesbian Visibility Week back into full swing. Commemorating #LVW25 is The DIVA Power List 2025, which spotlights 100 LGBTQIA+ women & nonbinary trailblazers every year. The theme for #LVW25 is “celebrating rainbow families.” This theme is spotlighting challenges our community still faces from nurturing chosen family, to forming a family and raising LGBTQIA+ children. Use the hashtag on social media to connect with the community and celebrate rainbow families this week!

Lesbians are have played a huge role in art, science, history, politics and culture. The world is simply better because of lesbians. We celebrate all lesbians today and every day!
